Emulsion Designer

The Emulsion Designer is a dedicated workbench for the oil phase of an emulsion. Add oils, butters, esters, silicones and waxes row by row — pulled from the curated INCI catalog with their reference HLB values — and the tool computes the required HLB of the blend in real time. It supports both O/W (oil-in-water) and W/O (water-in-oil) systems.

For any oil composition, the Designer recommends emulsifier pairs that match the target HLB, drawn from a database of cosmetic-grade emulsifiers. It validates the surfactant-to-oil ratio, flags low-coverage scenarios, and surfaces alternatives when the chosen system is incompatible with the rest of the formula.

Useful as a standalone scratchpad for emulsion R&D, and as a sanity-check companion to the Cosmic CoFormulator: paste the oil phase from any draft formula into the Designer, validate the HLB balance, and bring corrections back into the main pipeline.
