Emulsion formulation requires balancing the Hydrophilic-Lipophilic Balance (HLB) of the oil phase with the right emulsifier system. Getting this wrong leads to phase separation, poor texture, and batch failures. The HLB Helper makes this calculation straightforward.

Enter your oil blend (type and percentage of each oil, butter, or wax), and the tool calculates the required HLB value. It then recommends emulsifier combinations that match this target, drawn from a database of common cosmetic emulsifiers with their known HLB values. The tool supports both O/W (oil-in-water) and W/O (water-in-oil) systems.

For each recommended emulsifier combination, the tool shows the blend ratio, expected stability characteristics, and regulatory status. Your formulator can compare options side by side and select the system that best fits the product's performance and claim requirements.
